A. When leaving China he met a guard at the border who asked him to write down his thoughts.
B. His ideas of Daoism influenced rulers to rule with less ruthlessness.

A. Laozi was a wise man and advisor to Zhou court.

A. Laozi is considered to be the father of Daoism.
B. He was one of authors of Dao De Jing or “The Classic of the Way and Power”.
C. His ideas of living in harmony with nature influenced Chinese thought, writing and art.
V. My Impressions
A. I agree with some parts of Laozi’s ideas in that the hustle and bustle of life can be too much
sometimes and there needs to be a balance. We need peace and downtime.
B. I have the same opinion that you can’t find true happiness with wealth, power, and selfishness.
